About Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca is the Capital City of the State of Morelos, México. Located only 45 minutes from México City (one hour and thirty minutes from the international airport) by México-Acapulco high way, world-wide it is known as "The City of Eternal Spring" due to its excellent temporal climate, with an annual average of 20ºC, and its unending beauty. Cuernavaca is a modern tropical city that hosts a global assortment of retireses diplomats, business executives and government officials.

This casual city also attracts people who seek a sunny place for creative or intellectual enquiry where they can find cultural stimulation and spirited conversations. Residents have included Erich Fromm, Diego Rivera, Carlos Fuentes, Helen Hayes, Malcolm Lowry, Ivan Illich, Gabriel García Márquez, Barbara Hutton, Rufino Tamayo and David Alfaro Siqueiros to name a few.

How to get here

We strongly recommend México City's International Airport which is located only one and a half hour drive south from México City. There is an airport in Cuernavaca, though many international destinations are not yet available. Taxis and buses to Cuernavaca are always available. The bus line travelling directly to Cuernavaca is "Pullman de Morelos", arriving to the "Selva Station" in Cuernavaca, only five minutes away from our Cuernavaca Language Center.

You can take such transport from the exit on Gate D. Approximate cost: 9.5 US dollars. Several taxi stands are located within the airport. Only taxis hired in such selling-points are advisable, since the ones in the streets might be more costly and are not likely to take you to Cuernavaca.

The Language Center can offer a shuttle service from, or to the airport. The fee for a such service is 70 US dollars with a 4 passenger capacity. Group quotations are available. We will gladly assist you in making reservations for both shuttle or bus transportation in advance.

Transportation in Cuernavaca

Buses: One can easily move around town by bus. Buses can be taken and go virtually everywhere. These stop at almost every corner or main avenue approximately every 5 minutes. Cost: 3.50 pesos.

Taxis: The cost varies from 20 to 35 pesos in the city. You can call a taxi company to schedule a pick-up.

Walking: Cuernavaca can be a delightful stroll, you can get almost everywhere in minutes, even when it's relatively far.

Food

There is a great variety of ingredients in Mexican food. You will get the opportunity to sample a great deal of new flavors. Typical dishes here contain a variety of local products that have been used as condiments since indigenous times. In Cuernavaca one can find virtually any kind of cuisine; Mexican, Italian, Japanese and Brazilian among many others.
